Tigh a'Chracaich is situated in a bay on the
spectacular North Applecross coast road near the small crofting
township of Kenmore. The view from the lounge gives
a panorama over Loch Torridon, where many scenes from the film
'Loch Ness' were filmed. Across the Loch can be seen the jagged
peaks of the Torridon mountains - Ben Alligin, Liathath and Beinn
Eighe.
The area is of interest to geologists, botanists
and ornithologists. It is ideal for leisure activities - mountaineering,
hill-walking, fishing, sailing, canoeing and diving. This is
an area set in dramatic scenery, dominated by mountains, lochs
and sea, well noted for its exceptional beauty, peace and tranquillity.
Tigh a' Chracaich, which is pronounced 'tie a cracich', offers a double bedroom with own bathroom (opposite) and twin bedroom
with en-suite shower room. Guests may join in the use of the lounge, which has a magnificent view overlooking
Loch Torridon. The bedrooms are to the rear of the house. Breakfast is served from 7.00 - 8.30am.
Tigh a' Chracaich is listed in 'le Guide du Routard'.
